Beginners’ crochet/granny squares
Everyone loves a granny square. Learn how to make your own in this beginners’ workshop. You’ll also be taught crochet basics, like chain, single crochet, half treble stitches and double crochet. The price includes a crochet hook, instruction sheet and wool to get you started. By the end you’ll be crocheting like a boss lady.

Make your own moccasin slippers
All we want to do when we get home is put on our slippers, slide onto a comfy sofa and chill. The only thing that would make this scenario better is if the slippers were our own handmade pair. Join The Makery for a three-hour workshop where you’ll learn to make your own slippers, for yourself or a pal.

Sashiko means little stabs in Japanese (yikes) but is a surprisingly relaxing craft. It’s basically a grown-up version of join the dots, only with a needle and thread. In the class you’ll find out how to set up your patterned cloth and begin stitching. Pick from eight different designs (decisions, decisions) and get carefully stitching.

Hand embroidered patches
Take part in an embroidery workshop with Lisa Dolson, textile designer extraordinaire. Learn how to embroider one of her hand drawn designs, with different stitches. She’ll start you off with four basic stitches and show you her freestyle technique.

Learn the basics of weaving
Want to have a go at weaving but don’t know where to start? This class is aimed at beginners and will teach you how to weave on a lap loom. Play with a variety of colours and textures and create something jazzy to brighten up a wall. All materials provided so you just need to bring yourself.
