Knits for kids: gift ideas for tiny tots

Free knitting patterns for babies | Mollie Makes

Not only are our personal project lists growing, the family’s expanding too! And there’s more good news: teeny tiny jumpers and hats are way quicker to make than adult knits!

Knitting garments can be a mammoth undertaking, yet the satisfaction of completing something you started months ago is so rewarding we continue to add gigantor projects to our must-make list. While we’re probably not helping the situation any, today we’re about to trigger another board for your Pinterest page: Knits for Nippers.

Is it just us or do you feel the need to crochet a blanket when those baby announcements appear on Facebook? And they always seem to pop up around the same time, too. While baby blankets are wonderful gifts for newborns, project variety will help make the knits feel less like a chore. So we’ve put together a list kids’ knits including baby blankets, knitted toys and mini-me garments – scroll to see the full list below.

Hoping I can do the little pointed hats with tassel,as I have a grandson due in August. Haven’t touched my needles I months, this looks like a good starter. It is one of the nicest wee baby boys hats I have seen, I can already see him in it. If he is as big as his Dad was when he was born, I might have to do the second size. And if he is born in August, might not need hat right away, but since we live in Scotland, you just never know what weather will be right. Not sure of thickness of wool as your needle sizing and wool weights are sized differently. Was it baby Apaca wool??? Thanks Georgina.

I would LOVE to have the diaper cover pattern, but when I click there is some kind of ladiessweater on Ravelry and not the diapercover. Can you please help me?
    Thanks.

  • Lamanta

The diaper covers are not diaper covers, it’s a sweater.
