Meet the winners of the Mollie Makes Handmade Awards 2016
Last week, team Mollie and the crème de la crème of handmade designers gathered at The Fable for the annual Mollie Makes Handmade Awards. The awards remains the highlight of the team’s year, giving us a chance to celebrate handmade and award the wonderful, creative people who turn their passion for handmade into a way of life.
“This year’s awards was bigger and better than ever! We took over The Fable with our shortlist of talented finalists for a day of creativity, entertainment and networking. Everyone got the chance to pitch their businesses to our panel of industry experts from Tatty Devine, Pinterest, Etsy to name a few. It was such an inspiring day, and a fantastic opportunity for our incredible finalists to further develop their businesses and meet like-minded creatives.” – Mollie Makes Editor Cath Dean
As well as presenting awards to the best and most creative makers, the day is packed with inspiring talks and crafty things to do – naturally. This year we welcomed Quill London for a calligraphy workshop, Mollie Makes Handmade Awards sponsors Brother, who let us have a go on their clever sewing machines, and photographer Xanthe Berkeley who led the finalists on a photowalk round Holborn. So. Much. Fun!
We’d like to thank everyone who entered the awards – we were overwhelmed by the talent in the creative community. To narrow it down to just 3 finalists per category is no easy task – you are all making beautiful handmade things! A big thanks also to our finalists who bring with them the enthusiasm, passion and excitement (and a touch of presentation nerves) that makes the event such an amazing day for us all.
So without further ado, may we present 2016’s Mollie Makes Handmade Awards winners. Congratulations to you all!
