Handmade at Kew

Handmade at Kew is back for the third year running, with over 150 makers and galleries. The international craft event features jewellery, furniture, fashion, glass and ceramics, so there’s plenty to choose from! Tickets include entry to the Gardens, so you can have a wander and get some inspo for your own botanical makes.

The Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair

Happy birthday to The Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair! Help it celebrate its 10th year by heading along to this the 2017 event, and exploring stands from over 160 contemporary designer-makers. You’ll find loads of contemporary crafts to ooh over, like glass, jewellery and ceramics. We’ll race you there.

Introduction to Soap Making: Create & Gift Wrap Your Own Soap

Find out how to make your own soap with local designer-maker Jenny Smith. In this three-hour workshop you’ll learn more about glycerine soap and essential oils, and how to turn a soap into the size and shape of your choice. After that, you’ll gift wrap the soap, so it’s beautifully packaged for someone special, or a gift for yourself!

Introduction to Modern Weaving with Amy Ilić

Treat your walls to an Insta-worthy weaving that you’ve made yourself. In this class you’ll find out how to craft your own woven wall hanging with a table/lap loom, under the guidance of experienced weaver Amy Ilić. She’ll show you how to set up your loom, create knots for the start and end of your weaving, and to use different weaving tools. You’ll come away with some different techniques too.

Fine Fettle Fibres brings us a workshop that’s focused around the concept of knitworthiness, the idea that we should only knit for those who value the skills, materials and time that go into our knitting.
