UK Hand Knitting launches Christmas Stocking Appeal for National Knitting Week, 3 – 9 October.
Here’s a great project to get you all warmed up for seasonal crafting: UK Hand Knitting is asking knitters and crocheters across the country to join their Christmas appeal. Knit or crochet a mini Christmas sock and UK Hand Knitting will turn them into bunting to hang in care homes and lunch clubs across the UK.
“National Knitting Week is the perfect chance for us to celebrate our craft”, says a spokesperson at UK Hand Knitting. “We want to bring a little Christmas spirit to care homes and lunch clubs by getting as many people involved as possible to make some festive bunting.”
Anyone can get take part simply by making a mini Christmas stocking or sock from left over yarn. UK Hand Knitting has created 2 special knit patterns and Raveler RhonddaM has kindly donated a crochet pattern, all of which can be found on the UK Hand Knitting website.
