Mollie Makes Collaboration Raffle

Creative business cards - Blogtacular MollieCollab

I often say it – the best thing about working on Mollie Makes is that we get to work with so many talented people: project designers for our How Tos, illustrators for our pull-out papers every issue, photographers snapping our home tours and Tea and a Chat interviews, and with event organisers – dreaming up ways to bring our ideas to life.

One such event was Blogtacular on 13 June 2015 a couple of months ago. As photography sponsors there and having been involved from the start, we love a good planning meeting with the Kats of Blogtacular – that’s Kat Molesworth and Kat Goldin, co-directors – who are always so open to all of our mad suggestions. The more we talked about the speakers and topics involved this year the more it was obvious there was a theme emerging. Low and behold! Collaboration.

That’s when the Collaboration Raffle popped into my head: inviting all attendees to drop their business card or simply a scrap of paper with their email into a giant glass lantern (it had to be pretty right?) so that we could randomly pair up a couple of bloggers at a time when we were back in the office until all the cards were accounted for. A spreadsheet was made, emails were written inviting them to team up on a brand new project, we pressed ‘Send’, and then stood back waiting for the creative sparks to fly…

So far it has been overwhelming. Keeping the inspiring conversations from Blogtacular going between strangers eager to share skills has created the perfect conditions for invention! And all it took was a forum for them to lose their inhibitions and join in. This community is so game! We can’t wait to share the most amazing ideas from the raffle with you. Keep an eye on future issues of Mollie Makes for the best.

Almost ready to announce your collaboration project? Share them with us using #MollieCollabs – we’d love to support your creative projects.

Pairing up bloggers, designers and makers – excited to see your collaborations! #blogtacular
