Every season includes a promise of adding something unique and wonderful to your wedding day. Whether it’s the rich colours of autumn or the freshness of spring, they spark a collection of DIY wedding ideas.

Here in the UK we’ve become experts in putting together a bad weather backup plan, which usually means bringing the outdoors in. What better way to do that than with handmade touches as demonstrated by Dawn and Mark whose spring wedding took place in a marquee, decorate with paper pom poms, bunting and pretty spring flowers.

Big thanks to Emma Case who let us share these amazing images with you. Emma is a photographer who specialises in alternative wedding photography for couples who want to do things a bit differently.

Decorate the marquee with paper pom poms and bunting to get a colourful feel even on the dullest days of the year.

We love Dawn and Mark’s embroidered Just Married car sign that would look lovely as a wall hanging after the big day too.
