Stitching with passion

If we ever wanted a new best friend it would be Emily Peacock. Not only is she a thoroughly nice lass with a wicked sense of humour but she’s a pretty mean stitcher and designer (mean = good, not in a stick needles in you kind of way).

We were absolutely delighted to feature one of Emily’s cool kits in the first issue of Mollie Makes and now we are very pleased to tell you about her new book Adventures in Needlework which she has just launched with co-author and needlework talent Jessica Aldred.

Forget images of wooly old samplers with pictures of tigers, Emily and Jessica make stitching something to be proud of with super cool charts for cute cushions and gangster bling.

Through using bold colours, graphics and modern designs the girls show readers step by step how to use traditional techniques to make something cool and stylish. Four techniques of canvas work, appliqué, silk shading and gold work are covered with all the tools, materials and stitching techniques carefully explained.
