Hold a festive crafternoon to support the mental health charity’s work.
If there’s one thing we love more than crafting, it’s crafting for a good cause. Mental health charity Mind is calling for you to hold a festive crafternoon to support its work to improve mental health advice and support.
Christmas is the season for parties aplenty and lots of gift giving, which team Mollie are obvs all over. Once December takes hold we start to feel a bit frazzled though and in need of a crafty pause. It seems it’s not just us either. Research from Mind has shown that 53% of people would like to be more relaxed at Christmas, and 26% feel more rundown now than they do at any other time of the year.
Why not hold a crafternoon for a break from it all? Have one with friends, family, or colleagues as an alternative to the office do. Crafternoon is the largest craft-based mental health fundraiser in the UK so you’ll be in good company.
Karen Bolton, Head of Community & Events Fundraising for Mind, says: “We’re really hoping people will support us by organising their own Crafternoon during the festive season. It’s the perfect excuse to spend time with family and friends and, even better, it’s a great way to boost mental wellbeing.
“Creative activities are particularly therapeutic because they help you switch off from day-to-day pressures, turn negative thoughts or feelings into something positive and give people the opportunity to socialise. Crafternoon helps to improve your mental wellbeing while supporting Mind and our life-changing work.
