Thrifty Thursday: Cupcake cases
It’ll soon be Easter and we’ve been looking for ways to decorate our homes for spring. So, how about this? There seems to be a whole movement dedicated to crafty pretties made from none other than – yes! – cupcake wrappers. Perfect for adding to gift wrap or to decorate the home for a special occasion. Most of us have some cupcake cases stashed away at the back of our kitchen cupboards, so call this a cost-free and thrifty project.
The gorgeous peach bouquet was designed by Christina from Intimate Weddings blog. It’s just so perfect. You can find a great tutorial there to show you how to create the flowers. Think how sweet this would look atop a brown paper wrapped box of chocs. Or just as a token of affection for any time at all!
If you’re thinking of making a splash with the decor for Easter (or any special day) why not decorate a room with a colourful paper garland made from cupcake liners. Makes a change from bunting! (Did we really just say that?) We’ve seen beautiful ruffly versions of cupcake cases just scrunched and threaded together, but we do love this more 3D version designed by Lindy of Crafted by Lindy. There’s a tutorial with all the steps on how to make it.
Hmm, now where did we put those cupcake cases?
