As you know, we’re passionate about giving the UK’s most talented designer-makers a platform to share their skills, so what better place to do so than at The Stitch Festival? Some of our best-loved contributors will be transforming a space at The Stitch Festival so you can immerse yourself in colour and creativity and meet your fave creatives.
Who will be there?
Christine Leech and the Sewyeah Social Club
Come along and pom pom with the Sewyeah Social Club! Join author, maker and workshop host Christine Leech and her Sewyeah Social Club at this year’s The Stitch Festival. Be inspired by her quirky, colourful and fun crafts, learn new sustainable and upcycling craft techniques, take part in a giant embroidery challenge, or at the very least learn to make a pom pom. With demonstrations, make & take workshops and a lot of crafty chat, the Sewyeah Social Club is not to be missed!
Katie Jones is a bright and bold knitwear designer who teams playful aesthetics with a love for craft and community. Katie’s self-named brand was launched in 2014 and has since won Selfridges Bright New Things Award in 2016, and been stocked in luxury stores worldwide. Her work now brings its designs out of luxury stores and into your homes with the Make-it-Yourself range, transforming her designs into patterns and kits, championing craftmanship and slow fashion.
More than just creating beautiful garments, Katie hosts playful experiences that encourage and champion social and environmental change. She’ll be running a wide range of workshops and events which let you interact and engage with her designs, and sharing her skills and knowledge on textile crafts.
