Fill a container 4cm (15/8″) high with dye solution. Immerse the base and let sit for 10 minutes. Using a brush, paint the 5cm (2″) above the bath with dye solution – it won’t take in as much dye as the bottom section, giving an ombré effect. Mix one part dye to two parts water, and paint the final 2cm (¾”) section. Let sit for 30 minutes then rinse under cold water, avoiding the trim area. Place on an old towel and leave to dry.

Time to declutter – fill your baskets with fabric scraps, craft supplies and more. Share your DIYs with us and other makers on Instagram and Twitter using #molliemakers or post them on our Facebook page.
