“Wait, what? Did you say Liberty print biscuits?”

This month, to keep you charged for long-haul crafting, we’ve included a heart-shaped Liberty print biscuit recipe in Mollie Makes 66. The way we see it, by baking these pretties, you’re basically eating creativity. And no, we haven’t lost our brain bobbins, it really is an actual project; published in a recipe book and everything. Flick to page 79 for Bee Berrie’s recipe and download free printables here.

With biscuits came tea, and this month we shared it with Lisa Congdon; fine artist, illustrator, author, pattern designer and hand lettering connoisseur – is there anything this self-taught artist can’t do? Find out on page 26.

Being in Lisa’s super tidy studio made us rethink our own craft rooms, so we looked into whether advice on ‘how to Kondo’ could help us organise our creative spaces. Read more about decluttering for makers on page 36.

On to the craft projects!

This month we’re obsessing over white and grey combos. While this isn’t a look for makers who mess, animal lovers or someone with a drawer full of paints and felt tip pens, we can add a touch of calm to our interiors with DIY clay planters. Nancy Straughan shows us how on page 16.

For stitchers and sewers we have the easy-sew felt dolls with patterns for tiny outfits so you can whip up a mini-me (Lou Loves This), a stash busting felt DIY wall hanging (Anna Johnson), a fabric fish game project for the May bank holidays (Cotton Clara), and a beautiful cross quilt design for beginner patchwork and quilters.

Makers who want to up their crochet game can dive into the simple crochet tank top pattern. This all-white slip-on top is perfect for laidback Sundays or festival frolics. The trickiest stitches in this pattern are half treble, and double treble – get ’em down and you’re good to go!

There’s also three ways with Hama beads by Lotts and Lots, DIY macramé garden chairs update, jewel embellished tees and lots more besides.

“Wait, what about the free stuff?”
