Carefully open the jump ring on the end of the necklace chain using your fingers or a pair of pliers. Remove the ring from the chain, thread all four white beads onto the chain as shown, then reattach the ring and close it.
Fold 10 pink felt circles in half. Pile one on top of the other to form a stack. Insert a pin into the bottom corner of the flat side of the stack.
Insert another pin on the same corner on the other side, going the opposite direction.
On the opposite corner insert a needle threaded with 80cm (31½”) of white thread. Thread the needle so that you have equal length on either side and knot the ends together. Insert the needle as close to the edge as possible and ensure it goes through all of the circles.
Place the stack under the chain in between the first and second bead as shown.
With the needle already threaded through the felt, bring the thread over the chain and re-insert the needle into the same hole, making a loop.
Tighten the loop, cinching the felt circles together.
Make a tight knot with the thread, then cut away the excess thread, but don’t discard it.
Rethread the needle with the excess thread. Remove one pin on the other side. Tie a knot at the end of the thread. Insert the needle in the same direction as the pin. Once you’ve made sure the needle has gone through all the felt evenly, remove the last pin. Repeat Steps 6-8 for the other side of the stack.
Fluff out the pink felt ball with your fingers to hide the join and make it more spherical.
Add a green and a grey ball to the chain in the same way (these will to sit in the gaps between the remaining beads). Your necklace is ready to wear.
