How to make a retro bauble decoration
Cut out your bauble pieces using the templates provided.
Position the deer’s head and glue in place. Glue the eyes onto the patch, then the patch onto the head using the image as a guide. It’s also best to lightly glue the pale bauble detail in place at this point.
Using one strand of thread at a time embroider the deer’s head detailing, eye lashes and neck detailing. Embroider the stars with the metallic thread.
Using turquoise thread, machine (or hand) sew the lines on the bauble detail. Position the bakers twine loop at the top.
Sandwich some wadding inside the felt bauble shapes and carefully sew around the outer edge. Start at the top and stitch backward and forward to secure the loop. Check both sides are sewn into as you go round.
Now add the bow and nose details with a little fabric glue. We also glued the seed beads in place at this stage. Cut a small rectangle clasp shape and glue one to the front and back of the bauble where the twine and fabric meet, then add the ric rac. Rub red chalk or crayon onto the felt to create a rosy cheek.
