Put the kettle on, don an apron, and get ready for the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning on 27 September
Macmillan’s biggest fundraising event, the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, is a chance to drink coffee, eat cake, chat with friends, and raise money for a great cause. Sounds good to us.
One of the oldest fundraising events of its kind, the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning will celebrate its 23rd year of raising money to support Macmillan, the charity that improves the lives of people affected by cancer. Last year, more than 5 million people took part and raised a record-breaking £15 million!
The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning will be even bigger and better this year. Mollie Makes’ favourites Wayne and Geraldine Hemingway have designed the charmingly retro apron (pictured above), available from Macmillan’s online shop (£12.99 – all proceeds to Macmillan); while an array of big name chefs and celebs (including Mollie Makes favourite, Dolly Parton!) have donated recipes to the cause.
Head to the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning website where you can sign up to order your coffee morning kit and download e-invites. Buy The Little Book of Treats – the official recipe book – exclusively from M&S Cafes (suggested donation £4) across the UK between 4 September and 2 October. And if you’re better at eating cakes than baking them, you could buy a box from Lola’s Cupcakes, who’ll donate 25% of all sales to Macmillan in the week leading up to the event, or head to M&S Cafes, where 50p from the sale of every coffee on 27 September will go straight to the charity.
